Aeris Project, Spain/Portugal connection

Andalucía Aerospace is a private association that arises with the aim of representing the business network of the aerospace sector in Andalusia. Its main mission is to strengthen the positioning of Andalusian companies dedicated to the aerospace industry in the market, of which Casemedia is a full member. To this end, they carry out actions and projects that help to increase the competitiveness of the Andalusian aerospace sector at all levels.

The AERIS+ project aims to consolidate a dynamic of reinforced and permanent cooperation and integration at business and institutional level and thus improve the competitiveness of the aeronautical cluster in the Andalusia-Alentejo cross-border region.

Among the key actions proposed by the project is the creation of a permanent Monitoring Committee, through which it is intended to generate a space conducive to mutual knowledge, the exchange of ideas and the transfer of knowledge between companies and entities in the sector in both regions. 

During the business visit in Alentejo, we have been able to learn first-hand about the opportunities in the aerospace sector, as well as to hold business meetings and B2B meetings (business to business) that have served to strengthen the opportunities for collaboration between the agents that have participated in this two-day event. 

The day began on Wednesday 7 February in the municipality of Beja with a visit to Beja Airport, which is located in the same town, and its aircraft maintenance hangar, where a round table was held with the Hi Fly Group, a company specialising in aircraft rental. 

After lunch, a visit was made to the facilities of the Lauak Group, a company dedicated to the manufacture of parts and technology for the aeronautical sector, bringing the day to an end. 

On Thursday 8 February, the last day of the conference, we went to visit the Ponte de Sor aerodrome and then to the University of Évora, where we had the opportunity to participate in a "B2B" meeting with other companies in the sector, where we were able to exchange knowledge and experiences, ending the visit.
